The USA and Ukraine Initiate Conflict Resolution Process

In Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), key negotiations took place between the USA and Ukraine, during which significant steps were made toward sustainable peace for Ukraine. Kyiv expressed its willingness to accept the 30-day ceasefire proposed by Washington, but its implementation is only possible if Russia simultaneously accepts and implements all necessary provisions.

This initiative demonstrates Ukraine’s commitment to a diplomatic resolution of the war, but it is not unconditional: Kyiv insists on equal guarantees from the aggressor. The USA, for its part, confirmed that peace initiatives should not create additional advantages for Moscow, and pressure should be directed solely at the aggressor.

Restoration of Intelligence and Military Aid

Another important development was Washington’s decision to immediately lift restrictions on intelligence sharing and restore the provision of military aid to Ukraine. This is a clear signal of support from the USA, strengthening Kyiv’s defense capabilities and showing the allies’ commitment to protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty.

Restoring intelligence sharing will allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to plan operations more effectively, while additional military aid will bolster their defense capabilities. In this way, Ukraine will receive the necessary resources to continue fighting, regardless of Russia’s future actions.

Russia Must Prove Its Willingness for Peace

An important moment in the negotiations was that the initiative now passes to Russia. The Kremlin must prove its readiness to cease hostilities on equal terms. Otherwise, the USA and their international partners will be forced to intensify pressure on Moscow—political, diplomatic, and economic.

If Russia rejects the ceasefire, sanctions pressure and military support for Ukraine will only increase. This will put Putin in a difficult position not only on the international stage but also within his own country.

The Jeddah talks marked another step toward achieving a just peace. Ukraine has shown that it is ready for compromise, but only on equal terms. The USA, for its part, has restored strategic support for Kyiv, reaffirming their determination to prevent the aggressor’s victory.

Now the decision lies with Moscow—either it accepts the conditions for a ceasefire on an equal basis, or it faces further sanctions and increased aid to Ukraine. The world awaits the Kremlin’s response, but Ukraine’s position remains unwavering: a just peace is only possible under conditions that guarantee Ukraine’s security and sovereignty.
