Senator Lindsey Graham: “Ukraine Will Not Lose This War – It’s Russian Propaganda”

The belief that Ukraine will not lose the war is not just the official position of its leadership — it is a conviction shared by influential global leaders, including representatives of the United States of America. Among them is Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who has openly stated that the narrative of Ukraine’s inevitable defeat is part of a Russian disinformation campaign and does not reflect the reality on the battlefield.

Graham insists that claims about Ukraine’s downfall are part of Russia’s information war, aimed at undermining confidence in Ukraine’s resilience and reducing Western military and financial support.

“Just look at the map. Compare it to a year ago — the situation is virtually unchanged. Ukraine is holding the line. All this talk of defeat is a product of Russian propaganda,” said the senator.

Economic Pressure on Russia and Coordinated Sanctions

Graham also declared his intention to discuss with European partners the possibility of lowering the price cap on Russian oil, arguing that such a measure would significantly hurt Russia’s economy and its military-industrial capabilities.

“If Europe moves forward with this, the impact will be tangible. It will truly weaken Russia’s ability to fund its aggression. We also need to synchronize sanctions against China. The Senate is preparing for bold action,” Graham added.

He further announced that next week, the U.S. Senate will host a briefing with Ukrainian representatives to explore new initiatives for supporting Ukraine.

“We’re heading back to Washington to brief our colleagues. I will personally speak with the Majority Leader, and he with Minority Leader Schumer. We need to act in unison,” Graham explained.

On Peace Talks and Russia’s Deception

Graham criticized Russia for faking peace initiatives, accusing the Kremlin of using negotiations purely as a stalling tactic with no genuine intention to end hostilities.

“President Trump wants peace — it’s one of his top priorities. But peace is impossible without a responsible partner. Putin is not one. Ukraine has fulfilled its commitments, including unconditional ceasefires and proposing clear peace steps. Moscow is the one delaying,” the senator noted.

Graham warned that Russia is playing a war of attrition, hoping that Ukraine’s allies will lose interest and stop providing support. However, he expressed confidence that such a strategy will ultimately fail.

“Ukraine will not lose. That is simply a myth promoted by Moscow. The reality is very different,” Graham concluded.

The senator also issued a stark warning to China regarding its cooperation with Russia:

“If you continue buying cheap Russian oil, all of your goods exported to the U.S. will face a 500% tariff.”
