Ukrainian Navy Shoots Down 20 Enemy Drones During Air Attack
In the early hours of June 24, during an aerial assault by Russian occupiers on Ukraine, the forces of the Ukrainian Navy successfully intercepted 20 enemy SHAHED-136 suicide drones. This information was confirmed via the official Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Navy.
The naval forces, in collaboration with other branches of the Defense Forces, continue to repel enemy threats both on land, at sea, and in the air.
The specific locations where the Navy intercepted the hostile drones have not been disclosed. However, it is noted that around midnight, air raid alerts were announced in the coastal regions, including Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts, in connection with the Russian drone attacks. Reports indicated explosions occurring in these areas, particularly in the port city of Yuzhne.
Furthermore, it is understood that naval aviation can engage enemy aerial targets well beyond coastal regions.
The last significant interception of such drones by the Navy occurred on June 17, when they reported downing 11 Russian drones.
