Unihertz Introduces Updated Titan 2 Keyboard Phone

Unihertz has unveiled its latest keyboard phone, the Titan 2, featuring a redesigned layout, enhanced cameras, and a lighter, slimmer design. The device is powered by a new Dimensity 7300 processor, which offers significant performance improvements over its predecessor, the original Titan, launched in 2019. This new model is set to cater to the ongoing demand for smartphones with physical keyboards, despite the decline of brands like BlackBerry, reports 24brussels.

The Titan 2 showcases a modern look, weighing in at 235 grams, which is 68 grams lighter than the first Titan. Its thickness has been reduced from 16.65mm to 10.85mm, and it includes a 5,050mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging, though it lacks wireless charging capabilities. The phone’s QWERTY keyboard has been redesigned to provide a more comfortable and reliable typing experience, incorporating custom short and long-press shortcuts for added functionality.

Featuring a 4.5-inch display, the Titan 2 maintains a resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 pixels. Unihertz has also integrated a secondary 2-inch screen on the back of the device, capable of displaying notifications and widgets. This rear screen is accompanied by a camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera and an 8MP telephoto camera, while a 32MP front-facing camera is aimed at enhancing selfie capabilities.

The Titan 2 is currently available through a successful Kickstarter campaign that has exceeded its funding goal of $100,000. While the expected retail price is around $399, early backers can secure the phone for $269, with shipping scheduled to begin in October 2025. The device supports Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual-band GPS, and includes an FM radio. Features such as a fingerprint sensor and programmable shortcut buttons have been carried over from the original Titan.

Unihertz positions the Titan 2 as a productivity tool, aimed at users still valuing physical keyboards in a mobile device landscape increasingly dominated by touchscreen interfaces. The Titan 2’s specifications reaffirm Unihertz’s commitment to blending modern smartphone technology with the tactile experience of physical keys, addressing both nostalgia and practical utility in today’s smartphone market.
