Strike on Dnipro on June 24: death toll rises further

In Dnipro, the death toll from a missile strike carried out by Russian forces on June 24 has risen to 20, with the city of Samara reporting 22 fatalities, stated regional military administration chief Serhiy Lysak, reports 24brussels.

Lysak further indicated that since the evening of June 25, Russian forces have continued to attack the Nikopol district using heavy artillery, FPV drones, and munitions dropped from drones. The towns of Nikopol, Pokrovska, Myrivska, and Marhanetska were under fire, leading to a fire in a café and causing damage to infrastructure, an enterprise, three private homes, two outbuildings, and a vehicle.

Additionally, Russian forces targeted the Dnipro district, resulting in destruction at a recreational area. “Fortunately, there were no casualties. Around midnight, air defenders shot down two enemy drones over the region,” added Lysak.

On the morning of June 24, Russian forces struck Dnipro and Samara with ballistic missiles. Four missiles hit the regional center, damaging nearly 50 high-rise buildings and 40 educational institutions, while a passenger train was also affected during the attack. A day of mourning has been declared in Dnipro for those lost in the recent missile assault by Russian troops.
