On June 26, 2025, Russian occupation forces are reportedly intensifying artillery fire on central Chasiv Yar, located in the Donetsk region. This ongoing bombardment aims to destroy any existing shelters and constructions, according to a statement made during a telethon by Dmitry Zaporozhets, spokesman for the operational-tactical grouping of troops in the Luhansk region, reports 24brussels.

Zaporozhets emphasized that Russian troops are unable to utilize significant amounts of military equipment in the area, as Ukrainian forces currently control the routes previously established by the invaders in the Siversky Donets Canal. He noted that the Ukrainian military has effectively restricted Russian logistics, preventing even the transport of motorcycles into the locality.

The spokesman elaborated on the decreased frequency of Russian assaults in Chasiv Yar and their evolving tactics. He indicated that the occupiers are suffering from a lack of resources, leading them to shift from direct assaults on Chasiv Yar to flanking maneuvers.

Earlier, Olegh Petrasyuk, a spokesperson for the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel, mentioned that the Russians have transformed residential areas in Chasiv Yar into piles of bricks. In this region, Russian forces have reportedly bolstered their personnel and are deploying specialized units, including a presidential regiment from the Federal Security Service, to conduct assaults.

The tactical situation in Chasiv Yar highlights the ongoing struggle for control in the Donetsk region, as both sides adapt to battlefield realities and resource constraints. As the conflict continues, the Ukrainian military remains committed to defending the area against continued Russian aggression.
