Russia strikes Khmelnytsky region, leaving some residents without electricity

Russian Forces Launch Attack on Khmelnytskyi Region

On the night of June 29, 2025, Russian forces targeted the Khmelnytskyi region with drone strikes and missile attacks. Ukrainian air defense systems intercepted two Kh-101 missiles and 30 suicide drones, with 21 of these reported as locationally lost, according to regional military administration head Serhii Tiurin, reports 24brussels.

The attacks resulted in damaged power lines, leaving around 150 consumers in one of the settlements of the Shepetivskyi district without electricity. Additionally, windows were broken in a nearby school. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported.

Today, Russia launched a total of 477 drones and 60 missiles, including “Kalibr,” “Kinzhal,” “Iskander-M/KN-23,” “Kh-101/Iskander-K,” and S-300 systems. Ukrainian forces managed to destroy 475 aerial targets during the attack. Tragically, Ukrainian pilot Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustymenko lost his life while repelling the assault.

In Lviv region, critical infrastructure was reported damaged, while in Ivano-Frankivsk, a woman suffered injuries. In the city of Smila, Cherkasy region, six people were injured, with three nine-story buildings affected and significant damage to the National University of Food Technologies college. In Poltava, both the main and suburban train stations were damaged as a result of the attacks.
