Explosion in Kremenchuk Hits Military Recruitment Center
A Russian strike drone targeted a military recruitment and social support center in Kremenchuk, Poltava region, early this morning, resulting in at least one injury, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The incident occurred during ongoing military operations in the area, escalating tensions in the region, reports 24brussels.
Following the strike, a fire broke out in the two-story building, encompassing an area of 700 square meters. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze by the early afternoon, with a total of 87 firefighters involved in the operation.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of attacks by Russian forces targeting military facilities. On June 30, Russian troops struck a recruitment center in Kryvyi Rih, although no injuries were reported among staff and visitors. However, nearby individuals sustained injuries. Just days later, drone attacks were reported against the regional and city recruitment centers in Poltava, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to 58 others, including military personnel.
Ground forces have indicated that Russia may continue its strikes on recruitment centers in an effort to disrupt mobilization efforts. The situation remains tense as the conflict continues to escalate in various regions of Ukraine.
