Explosion near CHP plant in Kyiv: what we know

On July 6, 2025, an explosion occurred in Kyiv and Troieshchyna in the evening. While some Telegram channels reported that it took place at TETs-6, Mayor Vitali Klitschko clarified that the blast was not related to this power station, reports 24brussels.

According to preliminary information provided by the mayor, a tank containing fuel and lubricants exploded in a hangar near the TETs. He confirmed that there were no injuries and that emergency services were present at the site.

Meanwhile, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, noted that several streets on the left bank of the city were experiencing power outages. He added that specialists would soon provide an estimated time for the restoration of electricity. Tkachenko also reported that firefighters had managed to localize the blaze.

Kyivteploenergo stated that there were no explosions or fires at TETs-6, and operations were continuing as normal.
