Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 reveals seven major announcements

The summer Galaxy Unpacked event held by Samsung showcased the launch of its next-generation Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 smartphones, alongside three new smartwatches, on July 9, 2025. The Z Fold 7 features a thinned profile, measuring just 4.2mm when unfolded, and includes enhanced displays and camera capabilities, reports 24brussels.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7’s design improvements include a larger outer display measuring 6.5 inches and an 8-inch inner display, with notable upgrades in processing power through the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and up to 16GB of RAM. Storage remains capped at 1TB. Additionally, the camera system has been enhanced with a 200-megapixel wide-angle lens, paired with a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto lens; however, it lacks support for the S Pen. The Fold 7 is priced at $1,999.99 and available for preorder with shipments scheduled to begin on July 25.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 features a new 4.1-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch inner screen, both enhancements from its predecessor. It has a slimmer profile of 6.5mm when unfolded and is powered by the Exynos 2500 processor, with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This model keeps a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 10MP front-facing camera, retailing at $1,099.99, also available for preorder with shipping on July 25.

Samsung also introduced a more budget-friendly option, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, which starts at $899.99 and retains many design features from the standard Flip 7, though with slightly less powerful specifications such as an 8GB RAM configuration and a 4,000 mAh battery. The Flip 7 FE has a 3.4-inch cover display and prioritizes affordability without sacrificing essential features.

New Smartwatch Launches

In the smartwatch segment, Samsung unveiled the second-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra, which boasts 64GB of storage and a suite of health-focused features including antioxidant measurements and running coaching functionality. Priced at $649.99, it will ship alongside the new smartphones on July 25.

Two additional models, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, were also announced. The Galaxy Watch 8 is touted as the thinnest watch Samsung has released yet, featuring an Exynos W1000 processor and various sizes starting at $349.99. The Classic iteration, which returns after a hiatus, comes with a larger battery and is priced at $499.99.

Samsung’s devices will incorporate new technological advancements, including support for AI features in applications like Calendar and Notes, enhancing user experience with smart integrations that leverage the latest in artificial intelligence. The anticipated features will support the newly updated Android 16 and One UI 8.

Overall, the Galaxy Unpacked event highlighted Samsung’s commitment to innovation in both smartphone and wearable technology, reinforcing its position in the competitive consumer electronics market.
