Drone Strike Hits Residence of Ukrainian Artist Leader in Kyiv

During a drone strike on July 10, one of the Shahed drones directly hit the apartment of the head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Kostiantyn Cherniavskyi, in Kyiv. The attack occurred during a wave of assaults by Russian forces, reports 24brussels.

Cherniavskyi was hospitalized with shrapnel injuries following the incident, as confirmed by the National Union in a statement on Facebook.

“It was a terrible night for the head of the NUAU, Cherniavskyi. During the massive drone attack, one of the Shahed drones struck directly into his apartment,” the statement detailed.

As a result of the attack, two fatalities and 26 injuries among Kyiv residents have been reported so far.

Additionally, damage was reported to the embassy of the Vatican in Kyiv during the assault. This incident comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Pope Francis at the Castel Gandolfo residence near Rome, where they discussed the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and sought lasting and just paths to peace.
