Russian Strike on Sloviansk Reports Casualties
On July 16, 2025, the Russian military dropped an aerial bomb on the center of the city of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region, resulting in fatalities and numerous injuries, reports 24brussels.
The attack occurred during rush hour, as residents were returning home from work.
“The strike hit the area around the ‘Avrora’ store. There are dead and many injured. Rescue teams, medical personnel, and military doctors are currently on site—the local hospital cannot accommodate all the injured,” stated Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights, on Telegram.
The situation continues to develop as authorities assess the damage and provide aid to those affected.
