Israeli Air Strikes Kill 21 Palestinians in Gaza
Israeli airstrikes early Friday resulted in the deaths of 21 Palestinians in various locations throughout the Gaza Strip. Among the victims were a family of five, including two children, who perished when their home in Jabalia was bombed, according to medical sources in the area, reports 24brussels.
In southern Gaza, attacks also claimed the lives of at least five additional individuals, including three women and a child. More than twenty others were reportedly injured as a result of bombings targeting tents housing displaced persons in Al Mawasi.
Moreover, a drone strike near Khan Yunis killed a woman and her son, injuring nine others at the Al Hanawe school. There were additional casualties in the bombing of a house close to the Al Shafii mosque in the same region.
Since the resumption of hostilities on March 18, over 737,000 Palestinians, or roughly 35% of Gaza’s population, have been forcibly displaced, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The ongoing conflict has left many homes in Gaza destroyed or uninhabitable, with numerous families lacking adequate shelter, exacerbated by Israeli restrictions on the importation of tents and construction materials that have been in place since March.
Additionally, Israeli authorities have restricted access to basic needs, prohibiting the local population from bathing or fishing in the Mediterranean Sea despite the rising summer temperatures and worsening water shortages.
