Massive Airstrike in Kyiv Results in Casualties

On July 21, 2025, a massive airstrike on Kyiv has resulted in at least one fatality. This was reported by the Chief of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachенко, at 4:39 AM. Reports indicate that the attack caused significant damage across several neighborhoods in the city, prompting emergency responses.

At 4:54 AM, Tkachенко announced that a man with multiple injuries had been hospitalized in the Darnytskyi district. Shortly after, at 4:56 AM, Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko provided further details regarding the ramifications of the enemy assault:

  • The Darnytskyi district experienced a fire on the roof of a residential building, as well as on a non-residential structure. A supermarket was also engulfed in flames, where the fatality occurred.
  • In the Dniprovskyi district, a fire broke out involving small architectural forms and a kindergarten.
  • The Shevchenkivskyi district saw a fire in a residential building and smoke in an open area, with damage reported at the entrance to the Lukianivska metro station.

Emergency medical services have also responded to calls in the Sviatoshynskyi and Dniprovskyi districts. “The enemy attack on the capital continues. Do not leave shelters!” Klitschko urged residents.

According to reports, the airstrike is part of ongoing hostilities, with further updates expected as authorities continue to assess the situation and respond to emergencies, reports 24brussels.
