This innovative event, titled Dalí Cybernetics, invites visitors to embark on an immersive journey through the iconic artist’s imagination, using 360° projections, interactive installations, and a metaverse experience.
The exhibition is designed to make Dalí’s surrealism accessible and engaging, transforming traditional art appreciation into a multisensory experience. Visitors will explore multiple rooms where Dalí’s distinctive imagery is projected onto walls, floors, and ceilings, accompanied by atmospheric soundscapes and dynamic visuals. In the immersive room, artworks appear to move and evolve, simulating a direct entry into the painter’s dreamlike universe.
Participation is encouraged throughout the venue. A sketch-and-post area invites creative responses from visitors, while an interactive floor responds to movement, enhancing engagement. One highlight includes the metaverse zone, where virtual reality headsets and controllers enable visitors to navigate a digital environment shaped by Dalí’s artistic vision.
This ambitious project represents a significant investment of 750,000 euros in the first edition, reflecting a strategic shift towards more immersive and digital art formats aimed at captivating contemporary audiences.
Dalí’s art has a notable connection to Bruges, with the Museum-Gallery Xpo in the Belfry housing a permanent exhibition displaying a fantastic collection of the renowned artist’s graphics and sculptures. Dalí Cybernetics extends this relationship by offering a new digital dimension to his presence in the city.
The exhibition aims to attract a diverse audience, highlighting the intersection of cutting-edge technology and artistic creativity in the world of Salvador Dalí. The initiative marks an important development for Site Oud Sint-Jan, which continues to evolve as a cultural hub.
