Intensified Combat in Zaporizhia Region as Russian Forces Advance

On July 26, 2025, Russian troops have intensified their operations in the western Zaporizhia region, specifically in the direction of Orikhiv, with reports confirming assaults on Stepnohirs’k, according to the Ukrainian informational resource DeepState.

In recent weeks, Russian forces have reportedly secured positions in Kam’yanske, attempting to extend their control beyond the village limits. Attacks have been launched on the nearby settlements of Plavni and Stepnohirs’k, resulting in the deaths of at least six Russian soldiers near the latter on the previous day.

DeepState noted that the enemy aims to establish complete control over Kam’yanske, prompting Ukrainian defensive forces to counteract with strikes, primarily using FPV drones and aerial drops.

The situation has been deteriorating gradually, as enemy forces have proven to be significantly larger than Ukrainian units. Predictions from DeepState suggest that Russian attacks will continue further north, likely approaching the line of the Kin’ska River.

Earlier reports indicated that in the western Zaporizhia region, Russian forces have been consistently applying pressure through infantry along the entire front line from Plavni to Shcherbakiv.

The evolving battlefield dynamics reflect the ongoing conflict in Ukraine as both sides mobilize for strategic advantages. The situation remains fluid, with potential implications for regional security.
