Russian Forces Intensify Offensive Near Pokrovsk
On July 27, 2025, Russian occupation forces are actively engaging in offensive operations on the Pokrovsk front, attempting to encircle the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast from the east rather than storming it head-on, according to Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of troops “Khortytsia,” in a comment to Suspilne.
Trehubov stated that Russian troops are making certain advancements on the front line between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka. He emphasized that this area has seen the highest concentration of both military equipment and personnel from the aggressor country, making it a critical vector in Russia’s offensive.
“They (the Russian soldiers) are trying to develop the offensive between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka, while our forces aim to eliminate as much manpower and equipment as possible, slow down their progress, and push them back,” Trehubov asserted.
Recent reports from DeepState mentioned that several days ago, Russian reconnaissance groups entered Pokrovsk through the village of Zvyrova, exploiting a temporary gap in the defense on a particular segment of the front line. The occupiers also conducted an armored assault in the vicinity of the village of Shevchenko on the Pokrovsk front for the first time in a long while. The situation in this direction is deteriorating rapidly.
