Russian Army Strikes Residential Building in Kupiansk
On August 5, 2025, the Russian military carried out an airstrike on Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, targeting a multi-story residential building. Preliminary reports indicate that at least three individuals may be trapped under the rubble. Rescue operations are being hampered by ongoing shelling in the area, reports 24brussels.
The attack occurred around 4 a.m., as confirmed by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. “Initial reports suggest that two women and one man may be under the debris. Their relatives have stated they are unable to contact them,” the prosecutor’s office specified.
Due to the persistent threat of further attacks, rescue efforts are being conducted under extremely difficult conditions. Authorities have launched a preliminary investigation under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses violations of the laws and customs of war.
