Russian Forces Launch Drone Attack on Ukraine, Resulting in Damage to Gas Infrastructure

In the early hours of August 6, Russian occupation forces executed a drone strike, deploying 45 kamikaze drones and imitators from the temporarily occupied zones of Chauda, Primorsk-Akhtarsk, and Kursk, reported the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Air Forces on their Telegram channel.

Thanks to effective responses from anti-aircraft units, aviation, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups, 36 of the attacking drones were destroyed or suppressed. However, nine kamikaze drones managed to hit three locations, with debris from a downed drone noted at one site.

Additionally, Russian troops targeted the Izmail district of the Odesa region with “Shahed” drones, resulting in damage to gas infrastructure. More than 2,500 customers were left without gas supply, though fortunately, there were no reported casualties.

As attacks on critical infrastructure continue, the ongoing conflict underscores the persistent threat posed by drone warfare amid rising tensions in the region. The situation remains fluid, with military responses and strategic actions being closely monitored by Ukrainian and international observers, reports 24brussels.
