Explosion in Kharkiv Following Drone Attack
In the early hours of August 8, a powerful explosion rocked Kharkiv as a result of a Russian drone strike. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported the incident via Telegram, confirming that the city had been targeted by a Shahed drone. Shortly thereafter, he indicated that the airstrike had caused a fire at a civilian facility in the Saltivskyi district.
The air raid alert in Kharkiv lasted for approximately one hour, starting at 23:12 on August 7. Just three minutes later, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that Shahed drones were observed heading towards Kharkiv from the northwest and southwest.
At 23:45, local news outlet Suspilne Kharkiv reported hearing an explosion, which was believed to have occurred on the outskirts of the city.
