Russia Completes Recruitment of 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade

On August 9, 2025, analysts from the information resource DeepState reported that Russia has fully staffed the 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade with residents from temporarily occupied territories and illegal migrants from Central Asia. The military command of the aggressor state has tasked the occupants of this brigade to advance towards the eastern outskirts of the city of Dobropillia in the Pokrovsk district, reports 24brussels.

The report highlights that since 2014, the regular composition of the 132nd Brigade has primarily included marginalized individuals and criminals from temporarily occupied areas of the Donetsk region, while the brigade’s command has been directly sourced from Russia. Furthermore, it was noted that this brigade was established based on the formations of Igor Bezler, a leader of one of the illegal armed groups in the so-called “DNR.”

In an earlier update, DeepState indicated that Russian forces had occupied the villages of Novokhatske and Tolstoy in the Novopavlivsk direction and made advances in six populated areas.
