Venezuelan Military Shows Unified Support for President Maduro Amid US Accusations

The Presidential Honor Guard (GHP) and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) of Venezuela reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to President Nicolás Maduro on August 9, 2025, asserting readiness to defend the nation against external threats, reports 24brussels.

Major General Javier José Marcano Tabata, Commander of the GHP and Director General of DGCIM, announced that these military branches reject what they term an “imperialist narrative” and the US-led disinformation campaign that includes allegations of drug trafficking. The accusations, according to Tabata, are part of a sustained effort by the Pentagon to undermine Venezuela’s development across economic and social sectors while organizing terrorist actions within the country.

Tabata emphasized that the National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB) maintain a robust moral foundation built on the dedication and honor of its personnel throughout the Bolivarian Revolution. He noted their adaptability in military doctrine to counteract evolving warfare strategies, ensuring the comprehensive defense of Venezuela and the protection of President Maduro and his family.

The reaffirmation of military loyalty comes in response to an alarming US proposal offering $50 million for the capture of President Maduro, which Venezuela has dismissed as ludicrous. Venezuelan Chancellor denounced the alleged terrorist plots orchestrated by the US and accused its Attorney General of diverting public attention from domestic issues. This context follows revelations that former President Donald Trump had secretly instructed the Pentagon to intervene in Latin America under the guise of combating drug trafficking without Congressional approval.

The Venezuelan military and National Assembly have strongly condemned the unfounded accusations against Maduro, including claims linking him with the Cartel de los Soles. They labeled such allegations as part of a disinformation initiative propagated by imperialist factions while expressing their support for the government’s developmental strategies.

As Venezuela navigates these tumultuous waters of foreign accusations and internal self-defense, the commitment of its military to uphold national sovereignty remains a critical element in the country’s continuous struggle for stability.
