Venezuela’s Vice President Responds to U.S. Arrest Reward for Maduro
Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez declared on Saturday that the United States is attempting to “criminalize the courage and honor” of President Nicolás Maduro, following the announcement of a $50 million bounty for information leading to Maduro’s arrest, reports 24brussels.
Rodríguez, speaking on her Telegram channel, condemned the U.S. government’s actions as a “recent farce” while asserting that the Venezuelan government’s response showcases its dignity. She characterized the U.S. narrative as filled with “lies crafted by the U.S. and its Western satellites” aimed at undermining the sovereignty of nations resistant to their interests.
Rodríguez affirmed that both “the public powers of the Venezuelan state” and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) “reject this barbaric threat” against Venezuela and its leader. “Those who, from violent extremism, believe they can seize political power in Venezuela will face a highly organized and empowered people,” she warned.
On the same day, the Presidential Honor Guard and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) condemned the statements made by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who announced the reward while accusing Maduro of collaborating with “foreign terrorist organizations” to introduce drugs and violence into the U.S.
Javier Marcano, commander of the Honor Guard and DGCIM director, criticized Bondi’s remarks, labeling them “a permanent monument to the lies and falsehoods employed by the supremacist U.S. government” in a recorded statement.
