Gaza’s Children Suffer Amid Ongoing Israeli Offensive
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the number of children who have died from malnutrition or hunger in Gaza has reached 100 as of Sunday. This grim milestone comes amid nearly two years of continuous Israeli military actions in the region, where the total deaths from malnutrition have now reached 217, indicating that almost half of those affected are minors, reports indicate.

On Saturday, hospitals in the Gaza Strip documented five new fatalities related to starvation, including two children. The situation has worsened in recent months, particularly in July, when death tolls surged as Israeli authorities imposed restrictions on humanitarian aid, controlling all access points to the territory.
Humanitarian organizations have highlighted the severe inadequacy of aid. From March 2 to May 19, Gaza experienced a total blockade, and the current aid flow remains critically limited. Such conditions have exacerbated the malnutrition crisis among the population.
During the week of August 3 to 9, Israeli authorities claimed that approximately 1,900 trucks of humanitarian aid were “collected and distributed” in Gaza, averaging 270 trucks per day. However, this figure falls significantly short of the 600 trucks per day that humanitarian organizations state are necessary to meet the basic needs of the Gazan population.
As the humanitarian crisis deepens, the international community watches closely, underlining the urgent need for a sustainable solution to this ongoing conflict that continues to threaten the lives of the most vulnerable.
