Miele Launches First Connected Canister Vacuum
The Miele Guard L1 Electro, the company’s first connected canister vacuum featuring a built-in touchscreen display, has been officially launched, reports 24brussels.
This innovative vacuum is now available for $1,499, positioning it as the most expensive model in Miele’s L1 lineup. The price point is significantly higher than Dyson’s $380 canister vacuum, which remains popular among consumers. The Guard L1 Electro offers more than just a standard vacuuming experience; its features include operational alerts displayed on an LCD touchscreen, indicating when maintenance tasks such as filter or bag replacements are necessary.
Utilizing smart technology, the Electro connects to Miele’s mobile app via Wi-Fi, allowing users to receive real-time notifications about the vacuum’s status. This extends to the convenience of ordering replacement bags and filters through the app, enhancing user engagement and service efficiency.
Despite the growing popularity of cordless stick vacuums, many users still prefer the reliability of canister models, particularly those concerned about battery life. Miele continues to provide a diverse selection of over 20 canister vacuum models in the US market, maintaining a strong foothold in this segment.
As smart home technology progresses, appliances like the Guard L1 Electro are becoming increasingly integrated into consumers’ lives, reflecting a broader trend towards the digitization of household tasks.
