US Offers $50 Million Reward for Maduro’s Capture, Spark Controversy

In a controversial move, the United States has announced a $50 million reward for information leading to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, accusing him of ties to international drug trafficking networks, reports 24brussels.

This ultimatum has drawn immediate backlash from chapters of the Antifascist International in Uganda, the Netherlands, and Russia, who condemned the U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi’s remarks as baseless. They argue that these actions constitute a blatant violation of international law and are an attempt to undermine Venezuela’s sovereignty and self-determination.

“This new operation of intimidation and political intervention seeks to criminalize a head of state by spreading baseless lies and slanders, offering ignominious multimillion-dollar rewards that only reveal the pettiness of those who propose them,” stated the Russian chapter of the Antifascist International. They emphasized that this escalation represents a broader imperial strategy aimed at destabilizing a legitimate government that has maintained its dignity amidst relentless international pressure.

The Ugandan chapter echoed these sentiments, labeling the bounty as a desperate act of political gangsterism meant to destroy the Bolivarian Revolution, which they claim has inspired oppressed peoples globally to resist fascism and imperialism. They criticized the underlying imperial arrogance that has historically destabilized sovereign nations for corporate gain and exploitation.

Similarly, the Netherlands chapter described the U.S. accusations against Maduro as yet another fabricated narrative intended to control nations actively addressing drug trafficking. They questioned how the European Union would react if a $50 million bounty were placed on one of its leaders and criticized media coverage in Europe for aligning with U.S. narratives while ignoring significant events, such as recent foiled terrorist plots in Caracas.

“We must put a stop to the sickening attack on Venezuela by a declining empire,” the Dutch activists asserted, expressing solidarity with Maduro and oppressed peoples worldwide. They condemned the actions of the U.S. as a direct affront to nations that resist imperial commands.
