Russian Forces Persist in Assaults on Chasiv Yar, Ukraine
Russian occupation troops continue to engage in aggressive assault operations in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region. Ongoing heavy fighting has failed to secure any strategic successes for Russian forces, according to Yuriy Syrotyuk, the chief sergeant of the fire support company of the 5th Assault Brigade, during a telethon interview, reports 24brussels.
Syrotyuk noted that the invaders have been attempting, without success, to capture Chasiv Yar since 2023.
The military official indicated that small infantry assault groups from the aggressor state are trying to infiltrate Ukrainian Armed Forces positions, aiming to plant flags to falsely claim control of the city.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces predominantly control the larger portion of Chasiv Yar. Remaining residents can only be evacuated from the city with military assistance. Currently, Russian troops continue to destroy any shelters and structures within the city.
