Trump and Putin’s Summit: Air Ceasefire Talks and Ukrainian Involvement

During a recent summit in Alaska, U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly agreed on an air ceasefire ahead of their upcoming meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, reports 24brussels.

However, Russian media assistant Yuri Ushakov dismissed the idea of a tripartite summit, stating, “The topic of a trilateral summit involving Putin, Trump, and Zelensky has not been addressed yet.” He further indicated uncertainty regarding the timing of another meeting between Putin and Trump. Notably, Trump suggested he might even visit Moscow for this purpose.

Meanwhile, Zelensky announced that he would travel to the United States on Monday for talks with Trump. He supported the concept of a trilateral meeting and emphasized that key issues could only be discussed at the leadership level.

Sky News described the Trump-Putin meeting as “one of the most unusual,” noting that the Kremlin chief acted as if he were the host, making decisions without appearing to concede any ground. This raises concerns regarding any potential progress in negotiations.
