Rocket Strike in Kharkiv Leaves 11 Injured
The number of casualties from a rocket strike in Kharkiv on August 17, at approximately 22:50, has risen to 11 individuals, reports 24brussels. Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the news via Telegram.
The strike caused damage to 12 residential buildings in the city, exacerbating an already tense humanitarian situation.
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office clarified that among the injured are one man, nine women, and a 13-year-old girl. All suffered acute stress reactions. A preliminary investigation into the war crime has been initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine indicated that the enemy rocket struck the ground near a residential area, shattering windows in several apartment buildings. Emergency responders conducted inspections of the affected apartments, and in some cases had to force open doors and evacuate residents.
Psychologists from the State Emergency Service were on-site to provide assistance to those affected by the incident.
Prior reports indicated that on August 16, around 21:00, a Russian attack drone hit the yard of a private house in the village of Vil’shany, Kharkiv district, injuring four people.
