Ukrainian Forces Maintain Strategic Advantage in Chasiv Yar

On August 24, 2025, the aggressor’s army does not fully control Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, a situation emphasized by the spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of the “Dnipro” forces, Viktor Trehubov. He stated that complete control over the city would allow occupying forces to advance towards Kostiantynivka and seize high ground, reports 24brussels.

Trehubov highlighted that despite Vladimir Putin’s assertions during his meeting with Alexander Lukashenko, the Russian forces are unable to capitalize on their partial hold of the area. “Since they do not have full control over this settlement, they cannot utilize it,” he stated.

Additionally, Trehubov noted that Russian forces do not completely control Toretsk either. While they have captured a significant portion of the city, they are unable to penetrate further and advance. He added that the invaders are currently “dreaming” of advancing toward Kostiantynivka from the Pokrovsk direction.

Ukrainian armed forces primarily control the majority of Chasiv Yar. Evacuations of remaining residents can only occur with military assistance. Presently, Russian troops continue to destroy any shelters and structures within the city.
