Russian Strikes Cause Casualties in Sumy Region

On the morning of August 26, 2025, Russian occupation forces launched renewed strikes against the infrastructure of the Shostka community in the Sumy region. Three men, aged 35, 44, and 48, were injured in the bombardment and have been transported to a medical facility, reported Oleg Hrigorov, head of the Sumy regional military administration, on his Telegram channel.

According to Hrigorov, a portion of the community is now without electricity, with critical infrastructure operating on backup power. Communication services are also experiencing disruptions in the area. “Resilience Points” have been established, and energy workers are striving to restore power to homes.

The Russian forces carried out drone attacks overnight on the Shostka, Sumy, and Bezdritytsia communities. In the latter, two women, aged 51 and 63, sustained injuries, and both residential and non-residential buildings suffered damage.
