Ukraine’s War with Russia May End by 2025, But Multiple Factors Must Align
The conflict between Ukraine and Russia could conclude by the end of 2025, provided that several key factors come into alignment, reports 24brussels.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, discussed potential scenarios in an interview with “Novyny.LIVE.” He emphasized that these are not precise forecasts but rather evaluations of possible developments assessed with varying degrees of probability.
According to Yusov, both internal and external factors influence the course of the war — such as Russia’s economic situation, its military losses, international pressure, and the actual state of affairs on the front lines.
“Could the war end this year? It could. But numerous factors must align: increased pressure on the aggressor state, growing defense, economic, and other assistance to Ukraine, stricter sanctions policy from partners. And, undoubtedly, the ability of Ukrainian security and defense forces to deter the enemy, diplomacy to negotiate, and the public to maintain the defense plays a crucial role,” he explained.
The representative of the intelligence agency stressed that Ukraine is doing everything possible to achieve a quick resolution to the conflict, but the primary condition is reaching a just peace.
Notably, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has previously stated that he is ready to end the war in Ukraine under the conditions outlined in June 2024.
