Amazon introduces feature allowing Prime members to add items to pending orders

Amazon Introduces New “Add to Delivery” Feature for Prime Members

Amazon has rolled out a new feature for US Prime members called “Add to Delivery,” allowing customers to add items to their pending orders that have not yet been dispatched, reports 24brussels.

This feature, available exclusively on the Amazon app and accessed via mobile devices on Amazon.com, permits customers to supplement completed orders with eligible items, which include electronics, clothing, books, and grocery products. Previously tested with select Prime members, the feature is now expanding to a broader audience.

The functionality is straightforward: if an item can be added to deliveries scheduled for later in the day or the following day, a blue “Add to Delivery” button will appear alongside the standard yellow “Add to Cart” button. Tapping this new button allows the item to be included in the upcoming delivery. An undo option is also available in case of accidental selections.

According to Amazon, this innovation aims to enhance customer convenience and aligns with its goal of adapting to changing shopping behaviors. The company stated, “how people actually shop: one need at a time, as they arise.” This feature addresses the common issue of forgetting essential items after an order is finalized. Importantly, last-minute additions will incur no extra shipping fees; however, maintaining an Amazon Prime membership will cost users $14.99 per month or $139 annually.

As e-commerce continues to evolve, Amazon’s “Add to Delivery” feature reinforces the company’s commitment to meeting the real-time needs of its customers, providing a seamless and efficient shopping experience.
