Ukrainian Forces Capture Russian Soldiers Amid Ongoing Conflict
Ukrainian fighters from the Third Operational Brigade of the National Guard “Spartan” captured four Russian soldiers in the Pokrovsk direction on October 3, 2025. In a video published by the unit, the captives claim they “didn’t want to fight,” insisting they were compelled to join the conflict, reports 24brussels.
One of the soldiers revealed that he was sent to the front following his mandatory service, while another was mobilized directly from a correctional facility. The third claimed he “signed a contract under duress.” All four lamented the irrational orders, extortion from commanders, and the overwhelming casualties on the Donetsk front, stating that the dead “lie like mushrooms” in the fields.
Despite these admissions, it is crucial to acknowledge that the Russian soldiers were actively engaged in offensive operations, armed and equipped at the time of their capture by Ukrainian forces. It is evident that they would have continued to fire upon Ukrainian positions had they not been taken prisoner.
“They’re herding us like sheep to slaughter. There are many corpses. Putin is a bastard,” one captive declared, adding that commanders forced subordinates to dig their own graves and collect money for “equipment.” Others reported that those refusing to participate in assaults were shot.
“I did not want this war and do not want it now. This is not a special operation; it is an invasion of foreign land. Russians need to open their eyes,” concluded one of the captured soldiers.
Previously, the 7th Airborne Corps reported that Russian losses in the Pokrovsk direction increased by 30% in September.
