An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 struck Myanmar early Friday morning, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The quake occurred at 10 kilometers depth at 05:53:57 IST on October 10, 2025, with the epicenter located at latitude 18.49 N and longitude 93.80 E, reports 24brussels.
This recent seismic event follows a series of earthquakes in the region. On October 6, a magnitude 3.6 quake was reported, occurring at a depth of 73 kilometers. In an official update, the NCS confirmed the tremor’s details, stating, “EQ of M: 3.6, On: 06/10/2025 01:14:01 IST, Lat: 26.68 N, Long: 95.92 E, Depth: 73 Km, Location: Myanmar.”
Previously, on October 5, another earthquake registered a magnitude of 3.7, which struck at a depth of 88 kilometers. The NCS recorded this occurrence as well, saying, “EQ of M: 3.7, On: 06/10/2025 00:16:03 IST, Lat: 23.69 N, Long: 94.12 E, Depth: 88 Km, Location: Myanmar.”
Additionally, on October 3, the region experienced a magnitude 3.3 earthquake with a depth of 90 kilometers. The details were documented with the statement from the NCS noting, “EQ of M: 3.3, On: 03/10/2025 09:54:06 IST, Lat: 24.70 N, Long: 94.89 E, Depth: 90 Km, Location: Myanmar.”
