Russian attacks cause injuries and infrastructure damage in Cherkasy region

Russia Launches Combined Attack on Ukraine, Impacting Cherkasy Region

On October 10, 2025, during a combined assault on Ukraine, Russian forces targeted the Cherkasy region, resulting in one injury and damage to critical infrastructure, reports 24brussels.

According to Igor Taburets, head of the regional military administration, debris from an intercepted missile struck a residential building in Kaniv, injuring one individual. Taburets highlighted the cascading effects of the hostile actions on the region’s infrastructure.

He noted that Russian strikes also targeted essential facilities, leading to the closure of a hydropower station’s dam in Cherkasy. Relevant services are currently addressing the situation, with further updates promised by Taburets.

In other developments, Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk reported that Russian forces have intensified their attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector. She assured that energy workers are taking all necessary measures to mitigate the negative impacts of these assaults.

Reports indicate that part of Kyiv lost electricity due to the strikes. Additionally, power outages have been implemented in at least two regions—Sumy and Poltava. Residents of Zaporizhzhia have been urged to use gas conservatively amidst the ongoing situation.
