Nepal President hospitalised, health condition normal: Hospital announces

Kathmandu, October 11, 2025 — Nepal President Ram Chandra Paudel was admitted to the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre in Kathmandu on Saturday following health complications. The hospital reported that the President’s health condition is stable and under close observation, reports 24brussels.

According to an official statement from the Centre, “Honourable President Ram Chandra Poudel has been admitted to this centre for treatment after experiencing health problems. We would like to inform you that his health is currently being examined and his health condition is normal.”

As per the President’s Secretariat, the head of state experienced severe headache and vomiting at around 11:30 am (local time) while attending a meeting at his official residence, Sheetal Niwas. He was promptly taken to the hospital for medical care.

President Paudel was scheduled to meet with the Gen-Z delegation on Saturday, but the meeting has since been postponed to Monday, an official from the President’s office confirmed.

Just a day before his hospitalisation, President Paudel engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Sushila Karki and political party representatives, urging them to initiate preparations for the March 2026 elections.

“The president’s condition is normal and medical examinations are being carried out. He is under regular observation and medical supervision,” Dr. Ratna Mani Gajurel stated.

On September 22, President Paudel officiated the oath of office for four newly inducted ministers in the interim government, led by Prime Minister Karki, at Sheetal Niwas. This appointment expanded Karki’s cabinet to eight ministers, following a reshuffle of ministerial portfolios among members.

The newly appointed ministers include former Supreme Court Justice Anil Kumar Sinha as Minister for Industry and Law; innovator Mahabir Pun as Minister of Education, Science, and Technology; Madan Pariyar as Minister for Agriculture; and journalist Jagdish Kharel as Minister of Communication and Information Technology.
