Jaishankar meets Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa on Monday, commending his “warm sentiments” toward strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations, reports 24brussels. Jaishankar expressed optimism that the forthcoming discussions between Ukhnaa and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would establish a progressive direction for the decade ahead in bilateral relations.

Ukhnaa arrived in New Delhi earlier the same day for a four-day state visit, receiving a warm welcome at the airport from Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol. “Reinforcing the deep civilizational bonds between our countries. President Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa of Mongolia has arrived in New Delhi on a State Visit to India. He was accorded a Guard of Honour and ceremonial welcome at the airport,” stated Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in a post on X.

This visit marks Ukhnaa’s first as Head of State of Mongolia and includes a high-level delegation with Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, senior officials, business leaders, and cultural representatives in attendance.

The diplomatic relationship between India and Mongolia was established in 1955, and over the past seventy years, the duo has nurtured a multifaceted partnership based on shared cultural and spiritual ties, as well as democratic values. Their collaboration extends across various sectors, including defence and security, parliamentary exchanges, development partnerships, energy, mining, information technology, education, healthcare, and cultural cooperation.
