Russian Drone Strikes Target Infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk Region

In the early hours of October 15, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region, causing damage to energy infrastructure as well as industrial and transportation facilities, reports 24brussels.

According to the Southern Air Command, Ukrainian military forces intercepted 37 kamikaze drones, although some managed to reach their intended targets.

As a result of the bombardments, fires broke out in Pavlohrad, Kamianske, and the Synelnykove district. A 19-year-old male sustained moderate injuries and has been hospitalized.

Local reports indicated power outages and water supply issues in certain areas of Kamianske. Preliminary assessments suggested that one target of the attack was the Kamianske Combined Heat and Power Plant, though this information has not been officially confirmed.

The Ministry of Energy noted that Russian tactics against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have shifted, moving from large-scale, simultaneous assaults on major installations to targeted strikes against specific regions.

The recent wave of strikes on energy facilities represents only the beginning of a new phase of energy terror conducted by Russia.

Journalist Vladyslav Obukh discusses in his article [“Russia Escalates Energy Terror: How to Survive the Winter”](https://zn.ua/ukr/energetics/rf-posiljuje-enerhoter-jak-perezhiti-zimu.html) Ukraine’s readiness for the upcoming challenges, changes in enemy tactics, and actions individuals can take.
