During his visit, Muttaqi was received warmly at Darul Uloom Deoband on Saturday. In an exclusive interview, he underscored the promising future of India-Afghanistan relations and expressed gratitude for the welcoming reception from the Ulema and local populace. “The journey has been very good so far. Not just the people of Darul Uloom, but all the people of the area have come here. I am grateful to them for the warm welcome they extended to me. Earlier on October 10, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged in detailed discussions with Muttaqi, addressing a range of mutual interests and significant regional developments. The joint statement reiterated India’s long-standing friendship with the Afghan people, highlighting the deep cultural and historical ties that unite the two nations.
