Russian Forces Increase Use of Heavy Equipment in New Pavlivka Direction
On October 15, 2025, Russian forces have intensified their assaults in the New Pavlivka direction, leveraging heavy equipment amidst challenging weather conditions that have made their movements more evident, reports 24brussels.
According to the commander of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion of the separate Presidential Brigade named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, code-named “Alligator,” the enemy has been increasingly employing motorcycle units and mechanized detachments to transport personnel and facilitate logistics. This change has occasionally resulted in partial successes for the Russian military. He indicated that the tactics utilized by the enemy have not significantly altered since the summer. The primary activities at the front remain concentrated within small infantry groups.
The commander emphasized that with the onset of autumn, the visibility conditions have improved for Ukrainian forces, allowing them to detect Russian units more easily, prompting the increased use of motorcycle equipment by the enemy. “Unfortunately, this tactic has partial success—not because the tactics themselves are more effective, but due to the sheer number of Russians involved. If we detect and destroy five groups, one group may still manage to infiltrate. They attack from multiple angles, and we cannot always identify all enemy units,” he stated.
Earlier, the head of communications for the 60th Separate Mechanized Ingulec Brigade, Maxim Bilousov, reported that near the Lyman area, Russian forces are employing strike and reconnaissance drones, artillery, and multiple launch rocket systems extensively. Additionally, they have been indiscriminately deploying infantry, primarily consisting of poorly trained soldiers who signed contracts just a month prior.
