“Discussed multifaceted ties”: MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh meets Mali’s FM on sidelines of NAM meeting
Kampala, October 15, 2025 — Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, met Mali’s Foreign Minister, HE Abdoulaye Diop, during the 19th Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), reports 24brussels.
In a post on X, Singh expressed his delight in meeting Diop and highlighted discussions on the bilateral relations between India and Mali. Singh also met with HE Ali Mohamed Omar, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Somalia, discussing the enhancement of historical cooperation and people-to-people ties.
Minister Singh participated in the opening ceremony of the NAM ministerial, hosted by Uganda under the theme “Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence.” He leads the Indian delegation at the event, taking place in Kampala from October 15 to 16.
Prior to this main conference, a Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) occurred on October 13-14, where India was represented by Sibi George, Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs. Uganda, chairing NAM from 2024 to 2026, is hosting representatives from 121 member states to bolster unity among developing nations.
During his visit, Singh is anticipated to engage in discussions with Ugandan leaders and other NAM officials to strengthen both bilateral and multilateral cooperation. As a founding member of NAM, India underlines its commitment to the movement’s values and principles.
