Heusden-Zolder – The 24 Hours of Zolder parade in Heusden-Zolder showcased a diverse display of modern and classic race cars, alongside a children’s buggy activity, drawing enthusiasts such as Gunter Houbrechts, Bram, Andries, and visiting families, reports 24brussels.

In a pre-race tradition, competing cars paraded through the heart of Heusden-Zolder in the Limburg province of Belgium. Many gathered along the streets for an up-close view of the cars, as the fans eagerly anticipated the race weekend.

On August 27, 2025, teams paused their final preparations to offer fans a unique experience. The parade featured a collection of both cutting-edge racing vehicles and timeless classics.

What happened at the 24 Hours of Zolder parade and kids’ racing?

Among the crowd, Gunter Houbrechts from Nieuwerkerken remarked on the parade’s exclusivity, saying it provided a rare opportunity to appreciate the cars from such proximity.

“You don’t get this close during the race weekend itself, but you can here,”

He added,

“Even for those who can’t attend the race, this is a great event. The Porsches are special to me. The lines, the shape, and the sound make them stand out above all the other cars. Fantastic!”

Fans Bram and Andries also expressed their admiration for Porsches.

“We’re trying to collect as many autographs and posters as possible to hang in our rooms. We don’t know yet if we’ll be watching the race, but we’d love for the ‘purple Porsche’ to win,”

The brand of the cars held little significance for young Noah and Eden, grandchildren of Bea Billen.

“As long as they’re blue or red,”

Bea Billen noted.

“They think that’s ‘chic.’”

This was Bea’s first visit to the parade with her daughter and grandchildren, who were thrilled to explore the event.

“They seem to really enjoy it. I also enjoy walking around here,”

she remarked.

This year introduced a hands-on racing experience for children, where 40 local winners had the opportunity to drive off-road buggies on a grassy course adjacent to the race cars. This prize was part of a local competition, allowing young participants to navigate the track.

“Steering, accelerating, and braking—it wasn’t difficult,”

Daan, one of the young drivers, shared his experience.

“But it was a lot of fun. If it were up to me, they could definitely go a bit faster.”

The 24 Hours of Zolder, one of Belgium’s longest-running endurance races, originated in 1983 and occurs annually at the Circuit Zolder in Heusden-Zolder. The event attracts both professional and amateur drivers from across Europe.

Lasting a full 24 hours, the race tests participants on speed and endurance, featuring a variety of touring cars, GTs, and prototypes. In recent years, it has expanded to include engaging activities for fans, such as car parades through the town center.
