Antwerp Art Weekend showcases contemporary art across the city

Antwerp Art Weekend begins on Thursday, with four days of contemporary art across the city. More than 70 venues will showcase a vibrant programme of exhibitions, events, performances and parties, highlighting the richness and diversity of Antwerp’s contemporary art scene.

Visitors can expect to find a wide range of galleries, museums and independent artist-run initiatives offering activities across the city. M HKA, the city’s museum of contemporary art, is the central hub and information point for this year’s event.

The programme features more than 80 exhibitions, 15 performances, nine book launches and seven artist talks, as well as guided tours, self-guided routes and evening events.

A particular highlight at the M HKA will be the presentation of works by the two laureates of the 2024 Antwerp Art Graduation Prize: Juli Bierich and Julia Tröscher. The prize supports emerging artists, particularly graduating master’s students who are not yet affiliated with established organisations.

Antwerp Art Weekend is an initiative of Antwerp Art, which was founded in 2014 with the aim of connecting and promoting the city’s contemporary art network.
