Tomorrowland to Honor Avicii with Memorial Tribute

Tomorrowland will pay tribute to Tim Bergling (1989-2018), widely known as Avicii, who last performed at the festival a decade ago. A memorial space will be established at the festival site in Boom, featuring a visual and audio narrative about the life and legacy of the Swedish DJ., reports 24brussels.

The tribute includes a 144 square meter installation showcasing previously unseen images of the DJ alongside personal anecdotes about his life and music. Access to this experience will be available only by reservation.

Additionally, fans can engage with “Avicii Forever,” a “spatial audio” experience accessible through the Tomorrowland app and Apple Music, allowing audiences to relive three of Avicii’s legendary sets at the festival.

Tribute’s Significance

“Avicii’s story is inextricably linked to that of Tomorrowland,” stated the festival organization. “He captivated the audience with his first appearance on the Main Stage in 2011, where he performed his iconic hit ‘Levels’ months before its official release, followed by unforgettable sets in subsequent years until his final performance in 2015.”

In 2018, festival attendees honored Avicii with a giant Swedish flag adorned with his portrait during Nicky Romero’s set. “To this day, artists at the festival pay tribute to Avicii by incorporating his tracks into their performances and sharing their personal memories,” added the festival organization.
