Baseus Launches EnerGeek GT01 with Wireless Charging Capabilities
Baseus has unveiled its latest accessory, the EnerGeek GT01, which can wirelessly charge a Qi2-compatible smartphone directly from an outlet, serving as a hands-free wall mount. This new device not only replicates features seen in previous products but adds functionality with a 10,000mAh battery that detaches from the AC plug for use as a portable power bank, leaving behind a simple 27W USB-C charger plugged into the wall, reports 24brussels.
The wireless charging capability is capped at Qi2 standards, providing only 15W instead of the faster 25W available with newer Qi2.2 chargers. In urgent situations, or for non-Qi devices, the EnerGeek GT01 features a USB-C port that outputs 45W from the power bank segment. Both the Qi2 pad and the two USB ports can operate at the same time; however, while wireless charging maintains a consistent 15W rate, the USB outputs will share the remaining available power dynamically.
One notable feature is a small LCD display, providing information on the battery’s charge level and estimating the remaining time until depletion based on current power usage.
The EnerGeek GT01 is expected to hit the market later this year at a price point of $89.99, potentially considered steep for a 10,000mAh power bank—even with its wireless capabilities. For comparison, Anker offers a similar device for $60. The premium price reflects the increased convenience of reduced cable clutter and adapter requirements.
