Honor’s Magic V5 Launches in Europe

Honor has unveiled the Magic V5, touted as the world’s thinnest foldable phone, in Europe. The device is now available for pre-order following its launch in China last month. Alongside the Magic V5, the company has introduced the MagicPad 3 tablet and the MagicBook Art 14 laptop, reports 24brussels.

The Magic V5 stands out for its sleek design, measuring just 0.1mm thinner than the Oppo Find N5 and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, although this measurement only applies to the white model. Other colors align with the dimensions of competitors due to varying materials used in the finish. The device’s unique camera bump adds thickness, which affects the overall comparison with rival products.

One significant feature of the V5 is its impressive battery capacity of 5,820mAh, achieved through a 15 percent silicon-carbon blend, significantly surpassing the Samsung Galaxy’s 4,400mAh battery. This innovation effectively alleviates battery anxiety, a common concern among users.

Other specifications include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and an IP rating of 58/59, which offers nearly equivalent dust protection to that of the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The camera system is robust, featuring a 50-megapixel main camera, ultrawide, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, positioning it among the best available in foldable devices. The starting price is set at £1,699.99 / €1,999 (approximately $2,300), aligning it with other folding smartphones.

In addition to the Magic V5, Honor has introduced the MagicPad 3, a 13.3-inch Android tablet featuring a 165Hz LCD display and measuring just 5.8mm in thickness. Despite its slim profile, it boasts a substantial 12,450mAh battery and supports 66W wired charging, with a launch price of £599.99 (about $800).

The MagicBook Art 14, described as a thin Windows laptop at approximately 10mm thick, features a magnesium-titanium chassis and a 14.6-inch OLED display with a 3.1K resolution. Powered by Intel chips including the Arc 140T GPU, it emphasizes aesthetics over performance, launching at a premium price of £1,499.99 / €1,699 (around $2,000).
