Apple Unveils Next Major Update for iPhones
Apple has announced that iOS 26, the upcoming major software update for iPhones, will be released on Monday, September 15th, reports 24brussels.
The most significant change in this update is the introduction of a new design language called Liquid Glass. This innovative design gives a shiny appearance to various parts of the operating system, incorporating translucid elements that allow underlying features to be seen through buttons and search bars. Liquid Glass will not only be a part of iOS 26 but will also feature in iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26.
Throughout the beta testing phase for iOS 26, Apple made adjustments to the glassy appearance of Liquid Glass. Initial iterations raised concerns regarding legibility, particularly in the Control Center. However, feedback from subsequent beta versions indicates that Apple has refined this aesthetic, improving user experience.
In addition to Liquid Glass, iOS 26 will introduce several new functionalities, including Live Translation powered by Apple Intelligence, a revamped Phone app layout, enhanced call screening options, and upgrades to Messages that allow users to create polls and customize chat backgrounds, along with a new Games app.
