Kobo Unveils Official Remote Control for E-Readers

Kobo announced the launch of its official remote control for e-readers on October 15, 2025, allowing users to easily turn pages even when the device is not within reach, reports 24brussels.

The new accessory, priced at $29.99, aims to enhance reading convenience for those multitasking—such as cooking or exercising. While it does not provide a completely hands-free reading experience, the remote is designed to be particularly useful for users who wish to control their e-reader from a distance. It includes a wrist strap for easy accessibility without needing to hold it continuously.

This marks the first time Kobo has introduced a remote for its devices, despite the existence of numerous third-party remotes available for Kindles and other e-readers. Kobo confirmed that the remote will be compatible with various Bluetooth-enabled models, including the Clara 2E, Clara BW, Clara Colour, Libra Colour, Libra 2, Sage, Elipsa, and Elipsa 2E.

The remote also offers additional functionality for audiobooks, enabling users to play, pause, and adjust volume levels seamlessly. Available in both black and white, the remote will launch in multiple regions including the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia on November 4, 2025.
