Lamborghini Unveils the Fenomeno Hypercar at Monterey Car Week

The Italian automaker Lamborghini has unveiled its new plug-in hybrid hypercar, the Fenomeno, at Monterey Car Week, claiming it to be both “the most powerful V12 ever built” and “the fastest Lamborghini ever.” Priced at $3.5 million, the car is part of a limited edition production of only 29 units, with each set to impress with its revolutionary performance, reports 24brussels.

Combining a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 producing 835 horsepower with three electric motors yielding an additional 245 horsepower, the Fenomeno totals a groundbreaking 1,080 horsepower, outpacing the Revuelto’s 1,015 horsepower. The hypercar also boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 1.64 kg/hp, the best in Lamborghini’s history. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 2.4 seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 350 kph (218 mph).

Significantly, the Fenomeno features a new 7kWh battery, enhancing its electric-only range to 20 km (12.4 miles). The vehicle’s design includes a monocoque chassis made entirely of carbon fiber, enhanced with carbon-ceramic brake discs and 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires.

The vehicle’s design, characterized by aggressive styling cues derived from race cars, reflects Lamborghini’s storied heritage. The name “Fenomeno” honors a valiant bull fought in Morelia, Mexico, in 2002, symbolizing something truly exceptional. Lamborghini intends for the Fenomeno’s design to serve as a manifesto for future models, although details on its upcoming all-electric versions remain unclear, with production timelines subject to change.

As Lamborghini continues to innovate in the hybrid and electric vehicle space, the Fenomeno sets a high benchmark for luxury performance, underlining the brand’s commitment to combining speed and sustainability.
